Big Box Erectors was established in 2005, however, founder Gene Stoops has over 40 years of experience in the steel erection business.
Steel erection for BIG BOXES is our specialty for buildings ranging from 100,000 to a million square feet and beyond.
We provide labor only and set steel for large, single-story, tilt-wall warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial buildings consisting of columns, beams, girders, joists, bridging, roof decking and perimeter angle in a single mobilization.

Gene Stoops
Founder, Big Box Erectors
Founder Gene Stoops has over 40 years’ experience in the steel erection business and founded Big Box Erectors in 2005. The company has grown exponentially with annual sales of up to 14 million dollars. Gene devised the company’s current method of erection, which is safer and quicker. His methods have taught crews to safely utilize forklifts with a jib rather than cranes and using welders in aerial lifts rather than "walking" the steel. This is reflective in our excellent safety record and current MOD rate of .89.
Chelsea Trueblood
Estimating Manager
After four years at Big Box and having been in a variety of roles, Chelsea Trueblood started from the ground up. Starting as a payroll specialist, she then moved to the Accounting / HR Manager and is now our Estimating Manager/ Client Relations Expert. Chelsea is the main point of contact and will coordinate with the Big Box team to work hard and earn your next project. Leslie Perkins
Estimator
Leslie Perkins, our Estimator, has a lengthy background in a variety of businesses. Growing up around the construction industry provides her with the background needed to successfully provide accurate bids for projects in a timely manner. The current estimating process and tracking system she developed allows us to monitor incoming bids and track project follow-up quickly and efficiently.
Isabella Ferrell
Estimating Team
Isabella Ferrell works closely with our Estimating team to assist with the administrative tasks needed to get bids out and maintain communication on the status of quotes. She has expansive experience in customer service and administration that allows her to effectively communicate with our customers and other team members.
Mark Bell
Safety Director
Mark Bell, our company Safety Director has over 35 years’ experience in safety consulting and directing and 12 years with Big Box Erectors. He keeps the company up to date and in compliance with all safety standards and insurance requirements. He also keeps the field team up to date on both 10 and 30-hour OSHA safety training.
Alexis Turner
Accounting/HR Manager
Alexis Shipman started with the company three years ago as an estimating assistant but has worked in a variety of roles in both estimating and client relations. In her latest role as the Accounting / HR Manager, she is your go to person for all accounts receivable and payable questions.
Job Superintendent
Our job superintendent is bilingual. He and our field supervisor have over 10 years of experience working in steel erection and welding. Most of the field workers have been with Big Box Erectors for over 5 years. They, along with the entire Big Box team, are committed to completing your projects safe, on time and on budget.
Project Goals

Our project manager and field supervisors meet regularly to discuss safety and ensure clear instruction, responsibilities, and objectives for every project.
Using weekly drone pictures, projects are consistently monitored to assist in meeting deadlines and for adjusting workload and schedules if needed.
